REGINA – Saskatchewan’s auditor says she is not resigning after all.
Bonnie Lysyk had indicated last month that she was leaving her job to become auditor general of Ontario.
Lysyk, who was appointed in April 2011, said she wanted to be closer to her daughter, who planned to go to university in Ontario.
But Lysyk says she’s decided instead to complete her 10-year term.

She says she struggled with the decision to leave in the first place and has come to realize that Saskatchewan is where she wants to be.
Lysyk, who was born and raised in Manitoba, served in that province’s auditor general’s office for nearly seven years.
“Saskatchewan is a beautiful province and I’ve developed a strong affinity for the people I work with and the people I have met over the last two years,” Lysyk said in a release Friday.
“There is a lot of exciting work ahead, and I am looking forward to continuing to be a part of it and helping serve the members of the legislative assembly and the people of Saskatchewan.”
Lysyk doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with the Saskatchewan government.
In June, she said her office couldn’t complete a review on young offenders because it was denied access to information. And in April, she released a special report that said the government is presenting an incomplete and misleading picture of its finances.
