Seasonal closing dates set for Regina golf courses

With the weather turning colder, the City of Regina has announced closing dates for its golf courses.

All city golf courses will be closed for the season effective Monday, Oct. 19.

The earlier than planned closures specifically impact Tor Hill North 9 and West 9 holes and Murray Golf Course, which were scheduled to be open until Oct. 26.

Lakeview Par 3 has already closed for the season (Oct. 13) and Joanne Goulet Golf Course was previously scheduled to close on October 19.

Beginning Monday, staff will complete the necessary work to winterize the golf courses.

Even with a delay to the start of golf season due to the coronavirus pandemic, bookings on city-owned courses were up 16 per cent compared to 2019. As of Oct. 1, there were 110,663 total rounds played, compared to 95,332 last year.
