UPDATE: Tornado watch ends for City of Calgary

CALGARY- The city of Calgary was put under a tornado watch on Monday afternoon, but the warning ended a short time later without a funnel being spotted.

Environment Canada said conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms, with the potential to produce tornadoes, as well as large hail, deadly lightning and powerful winds.

A severe thunderstorm warning was also issued for the surrounding areas of Cochrane, Airdrie, Olds and Sundre.
