EDMONTON – Monday morning, Northlands and North American Midway Entertainment hosted Monday Morning Magic for children with disabilities and their families.

This year marks the 36th anniversary of the special event.

The free, invitation-only community event provides exclusive access to the K-Days midway for children with special needs and their families.

Organizers say Monday Morning Magic gives children the chance to experience the fun of K-Days in a safe and controlled environment.

“We’re opening up the midway for them from 9-12 so they can enjoy it with the comforts of their family with some safe conditions,” says Lauren Andrews, Public Relations Specialist with Northlands.

Dozens of familiar Edmonton faces joined the festivities, including local athletes.

“We have Eskimos, Edmonton Oilers Octane Cheer Team, Edmonton Rush, our fire department, Edmonton police, helping us put smiles on the faces of some children with disabilities who may not be able to enjoy the midway in the way they would be able to normally,” adds Andrews.

“A lot of memories are going to be made this morning with the Eskimos, some great local heroes, coming out to support this great cause.”
