Global News is kicking off its fifth annual Variety Week on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, highlighting stories from children and families around the province who have been helped by Variety – the Children’s Charity.

Variety can help with a wide range of learning disabilities by funding tutoring for special needs children, and tuition bursaries to specialized schools throughout B.C. Dr. Sharon Arnold walks us through the challenges the families and children face trying to navigate the education system.
Mason was born prematurely with a brain injury, while his twin brother was born healthy. Variety helped fund custom orthotics and a standing frame for Mason so that he can strengthen his muscles and eventually learn to walk.
Variety supports kids who have special education needs like tutoring and tuition for special schools. COVID-19 has put a burden on education and made learning even more difficult for kids with special needs.
