Born on the laid back islands of Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean, Tanara moved to Red Deer as an infant, and has called this community home ever since.
Her passion for news came from her mother. They would spend most days watching the news from sun up till sun down.
After Graduating from Western Academy Broadcast College in Saskatoon, Tanara worked as a news reporter/anchor for a local radio station, with the aspirations of someday working in television. Tanara finally found her calling, and made the move to CHCA news, where she now reports the news, sun up till sun down.
Her work ethic and commitment level are mirrored in her favourite hobby, competitive figure skating.
You can hardly call it just a hobby though. Tanara has won numerous medals, and is currently training in hopes of competing in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Whether she’s bringing Central Albertan’s the important stories of the day, or bringing home a medal for our country, Tanara always performs on a world class level.
