UPDATE: Castlegar man’s body found in Washington State river

UPDATE: The BC Coroners Service have confirmed that Lyle Lamont’s body was found deceased in the Columbia River on Aug. 1. His body was found near Lake Roosevelt in Stevens County, Washington. No other details have been released.

Mounties said 25-year-old Lamont was last seen on July 14 when he left his father’s home to go for a walk at around 5:30 a.m.

Lamont’s family said he didn’t have his wallet on him when he left the house and his cell phone has not been used.

Family members started a Facebook page called “Help return Lyle Lamont to his friends and family” to provide updates on the search.

“Please everyone continue to keep looking in places you know he liked to go to. Sunday search and rescue boats are going back out on the river,” a post on the Facebook page said.

Lamont is six feet tall, 180 pounds and has short blonde hair and blue eyes.

He has tattoos of a grenade and his last name on his arms.

Lamont was wearing a striped hoodie and jeans when he was last seen.
