There is good news for Penticton residents ready to embrace the summer and jump into the water.
The City of Penticton says the new community centre pool will open on schedule.
Crews are working feverishly to get the pool completed by the end of the month.
The pool’s public opening is planned for the first week of June.
Both the leisure pool and ten-lane lap pool are fully installed.
Workers are now putting the final touches on projects such as the new waterslide.
Penticton Mayor Dan Ashton says the new pool will create more opportunities for competitions, swimming lessons and public swimming.
Ashton says the $24 million project is on budget.
