TORONTO – Environment Canada has cancelled a severe thunderstorm watch for the GTA.
The hot and humid weather was causing instability in the upper atmosphere and created the possibility thunderstorms capable of producing of damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours.

Severe thunderstorm warnings had been issued in other parts of the province including Orangeville, Grand Valley and Dufferin County as well in Windsor, Leamington and Essex County.
The watches were cancelled just after 7 p.m. Thursday.

A watch is issued when conditions are favourable for severe weather. A warning is when hazardous weather is imminent or occurring.
