Weekdays, Gord Gillies anchors Global Calgary Early News and and teams up with Nirmala Naidoo to co-anchor Global Calgary News Hour.
Gord is a native Calgarian who is thrilled to be working in his hometown. He cites covering the 1988 Olympic Winter Games as one of the highlights of his career. Gord loves the fact his job enables him to meet so many interesting people. He considers himself a “news junkie” and 2006 will mark his 25th year working in newsrooms across the country.

Favorite Movies: Caddyshack, Saving Private Ryan, any Austin Powers adventure!
Favorite TV Shows: Still loves the Seinfeld reruns and The Simpsons.
Favorite People: Family— wife and kids! My Mom continues to inspire me every day. My late step-dad was a wonderful and positive influence on so many levels. It was a thrill working alongside the late Ed Whalen for many years where I marvelled at his dedication to work and the community.
Favorite Charities: The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, The Salvation Army, Hull Child and Family Services.
