A 12- year-old girl has passed away in hospital, after being pulled from a community lake in the southeast on Saturday.
Police say the girl, and some of her friends, were playing on a flotation device in Mahogany Lake.
When the group got to shore a parent noticed one of the children was missing and quickly swam out to find her.

The child was found unconscious.
Adam Loria, a spokesperson for EMS says adults on the scene and first responders did everything they could to save the girl’s life.
“They began first aid procedures on her while EMS was en route,” says Loria. “EMS was able to stabilize the patient on scene and rush her in critical life-threatening condition.”
The girl was not wearing a life jacket.
Police say no charges will be laid.
