Temperatures in the region are expected to be near the 30°C mark but with the humidity, it’ll feel more like 39°C.
However, a cold front is expected to push into the area. The good news is that it will bring the humidex values down, but the bad news is that it may also spawn severe thunderstorms.
Environment Canada has already issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Toronto and the GTA as well as parts of Southern Ontario. There is the possibility of heavy downpours.
And just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, the weather agency issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Halton-Peel and York-Durham.
The storms are expected to push into Toronto by mid-afternoon.
