REGINA – The CFL has announced that Saskatchewan Roughrider kick returner Jock Sanders has been named the CFL’s Gibson’s Finest Special Teams Player of the Week.
Sanders had an impressive performance in Friday’s 36-21 victory over the visiting Calgary Stampeders. The 25-year-old St. Petersburgh, Florida native had 10 special teams touches totaling 174 return yards.

The second year Rider returned six punts for a 74-yard total including a 27-yard long run and another four kickoffs for a 100 yard total including a 29-yard long.
This is the first time in Sanders’ three year CFL career that he has picked up a player of the week award.
