TORONTO – A progressive conservative candidate is under fire Wednesday after a now-deleted tweet.

Wayne Wettlaufer, a PC candidate in Kitchener-Centre commented on female voter’s political knowledge in a response to a tweet from Ashley Csanady, a journalist with Queen’s Park briefing.

“I all too often find my female friends (outside of journalism circles) far far less engaged and informed about current affairs,” Csanady wrote on twitter. https://twitter.com/AshleyCsanady

And shortly after, Wettlaufer responded “Is that why so many females vote #Liberal – they get all their information from the Toronto Star (less informed).”

He has since deleted the tweet.
