The pool’s opening was pushed back when contractor’s work to repair and repaint the pool basin was delayed due to precipitation.

The original opening date for Mayfair Pool was June 17.

To accommodate this delay, the city opened George Ward Pool early this season. Basin drainage repairs postponed Riversdale Pool’s original launch but it is now operating along with Lathey.

Swimming enthusiasts had to endure a long wait while a $5.5 million pool replacement was completed. The new and improved Mayfair Pool was opened to the public last summer.
