Doug Ford sports ‘Canada is not for sale’ hat, warns U.S. of retaliation ‘beyond tariffs’
Description
January 15, 2025
Ahead of the First Minister’s meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford — while donning a “Canada is not for sale” hat — spoke with reporters. “[Trump] is going to try to devastate our country, he’s going to try to divide our country and we cannot have division in our country.” During his opening remarks at the meeting, Ford said “You can’t let someone hit you over the head with a sledgehammer without hitting them back twice as hard,” noting that he was a strong believer in retaliatory tariffs.
