A new survey suggests most people in the Lower Mainland support bike lanes, contrary to popular belief.
The poll by Insights West found a majority of both transit users and drivers support separated bike lanes.
The survey found that support is strongest among women and people between the ages of 18 and 34.
However, the survey also found there are concerns about the impact bike lanes are having on local businesses and parking.
70 per cent of people say bike lanes have made parking more difficult and 55 per cent believe they have hurt local businesses.
