UPDATE: Saskatoon police make arrest in shooting of 14-year-old boy
Saskatoon police spent part of Sunday evening searching the area around Avenue B North and 34th Street for a man reportedly in possession of a gun.
Nearly a dozen police cruisers swarmed the area after 4 p.m., and an officer told Global News he didn’t know how big the crime scene was.
Police said a 14-year-old boy was injured after a shot was fired inside a home.
He was taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
Officers searched the area until just after 9 p.m. for a 32-year-old man who was believed to have a gun, police said in a statement.
Police said the victim and suspect know each other, and officers believe it is an isolated incident stemming from an escalated domestic violence dispute.
The forensic identification unit is investigating.
Police continue searching for the suspect and are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
