Scotland hosted a dirty soccer competition over the weekend – but it wasn’t flying elbows or dangerous tackles that made it dirty.
Instead, it was the conditions on the pitch that made this competition so unique.

“Swamp soccer” is a six-on-six contest with no grass – and lots of mud.
The competition in Scotland over the weekend was dubbed the “Swamp Soccer World Cup.” The event brought 20 teams together who were willing to get down and dirty in the name of fun.
Fighting through the mud makes the game exhausting, so a match only lasts 24 minutes and unlimited substitutes are allowed.
