Harrison Lee is only 13 years old, and has only been practicing with his yo-yo for about two and a half years, but he’s already considered a whiz and is taking part in numerous competitions.
He even took part in a competition in Burnaby last Saturday.
But now the Burnaby resident is setting his sights on another task – raising money for the victims of the Calgary floods.
“I’ve been seeing on the news everywhere, homes getting washed away,” said Harrison. Some of his friends that live in Calgary were personally affected and Harrison said he wants to help them.
With the help of his mom, Elaine, he has partnered with the Salvation Army to put on a ‘Yoyo-athon’ to raise money.
The event will be held July 10, but Harrison is still looking for a place to hold it.
He will be yo-yoing for hours, along with many of his friends, and there will be lots of things for people to see and do.
If you have a venue, or know of a place, contact Harrison’s sister:
