It was an astonishing crash that caught international attention, and now the pilot that survived it all is speaking to the media for the first time about his experience.
The CF-18 Hornet he was flying plunged to the ground during a practice session at the Alberta International Airshow in Lethbridge on July 23rd.
Captain Brian Bews ejected from the fighter jet with just seconds to spare, suffering compressed fractures in three vertebrae.
Bews will be speaking at 2:30 this afternoon in Calgary. It’s not yet known what caused the fighter jet to go down.
