Construction has begun on the elevated track for the west leg of the LRT.
The 1.5km long structure featuring Sunalta station will be 14 meters above ground, making it Calgary’s first elevated station.
Mayor Dave Bronconnier says it will be a safe, fast and an environmentally friendly connection that will help reduce traffic congestion.
When completed, the west LRT alignment will expand C-Train service to more than 90,000 Calgarians in the city’s west side.
