More than 150 people donated time and money to buy groceries and make 1,500 lunches for those in need.

Event organizer Sophia Mach said she was inspired to bring the movement to Vancouver after her friends started the program in L.A. and many others around the world are doing the same.

The Vancouver group makes the healthy lunches once a month.
