PLAYGRO MUSICAL PULL STRING TOY RECALL

TORONTO, Dec. 4 /CNW/ – Sears Canada Inc. has been advised by Elfe Juvenile Product Inc. of a potential choking hazard relating to the Toy Box by Playgro Musical Pullstring Toy. Elfe Juvenile Product Inc. has issued a safety advisory after it was discovered that there is a potential for the propeller affixed to the front of the pullstring toy to become detached and expose small parts, posing a choking hazard for infants and small children. The toy was sold at several retailers including Sears Canada, which sold the item in its retail stores between May 15, 2007 and November 25, 2008 at a Sears regular price of $19.99. The affected model number of the Toy Box by Playgro Musical Pullstring Toy is 101144 with PO numbers 28997 or 27082; the model and PO numbers are indicated on the tag attached to the back of the product. The corresponding Sears item number found on your receipt of sale is 12008. Elfe Juvenile Product Inc. has received no reports of incidents or injuries.

In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers who own an affected Toy Box by Playgro Musical Pullstring Toy to cease use immediately and remove it from the crib. Customers who purchased the item from Sears can return the toy intact to their nearest Sears retail store for a full refund if accompanied by a receipt of sale or Sears Card statement, or for the lowest selling price without a receipt. Alternatively, customers may contact Elfe Juvenile Products to register for a $25 credit certificate kit by visiting their website at www.elfe.net or by calling 1-800-667-8184. Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its department stores to advise customers of this safety recall.
