Edmontonians can expeted to pay more next time they head to the pump.The price of gas sky-rocketed to almost $1.10/L on Thursday.
Kathelene Thompson said that the rise in gas prices will force her to use more discretion when it comes to driving her car. Thompson will now try to "get away with one tank of gas for every two weeks".
Many people feel that the gas is over priced. But Aly Sumar says that the hike is to be expected and is happy the prices aren’t higher.
"you know, it is what it is and at least it isn’t $1.30/L"
Sumar also said that the prices are cheaper here then they are in the east, and the problem is unavoidable "because everyone still needs gas".
The unrest in Lybia has caused gas prices to rise all over the world.
