A man convicted of a hate crime attack that left a 60-year-old man with severe brain damage has been granted early parole.
Shawn Woodward was arrested for sucker-punching Ritchie Dowrey at a Vancouver Pub in 2010.

A judge ruled the incident a hate crime and sentenced Woodward to six years in prison. But the parole board believes Woodward is at a low risk to re-offend.
