EDITOR’S NOTE: Officials with the Calgary Stampede announced on Thursday, April 23 that the 2020 event had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health said a public health order banning gatherings of more than 15 people would be in place all summer. Dr. Deena Hinshaw said that means summer events and festivals across Alberta will have to be cancelled.
