County Road 10 closed following workshop fire in Cavan Monaghan Township

No one was injured following a fire at workshop just outside the village of Millbrook on Friday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m. Cavan Monaghan Township firefighters responded to the blaze at a residence on County Road 10 south of Larmer Line. They discovered a workshop filled with black smoke.

Fire Chief Bill Balfour tells Global News Peterborough that one person was working on a car inside the workshop when the vehicle ignited and the blaze quickly spread.

Peterborough Police Service and the fire department are investigating the cause of the vehicle fire.

County Road 10 was closed and traffic was directed as crews quickly extinguished the blaze.

A damage estimate has yet to be determined.
