Toronto police have arrested two teenagers and are looking for a third suspect in connection with Thursday’s shooting at Central Tech high school.
At around 1 p.m., police say a shot was fired in a stairwell at Central Technical School at Bathurst Street and Harbord Street.
Two boys were located at the sceneand taken into custody, but were not charged. At 6:30 p.m., police found a third boy who was thought to be a suspect. Police now say he was actually the intended victim.
All of the 2,056 students and 142 staff remained in the school for over three hours while the school was placed under lockdown mode.
Emergency Task Force officers and Police Dog Services swept the school to ensure the suspect was not inside. Students were dismissed after a thorough search of the building.
There were no reported injuries.
