Fire at Lacombe high school

Fire at Lacombe high school - image

Crews were called to Lacombe Composite High School around 1:00 Monday afternoon, when smoke was spotted billowing inside the building. All 800 students were escorted out safely and the flames were extinguished within an hour. A roofing crew was working earlier in the day, and that’s where the fire is believed to have started. The extent of damage is not known, but there was both smoke and water damage, after the sprinklers inside the school went off. Classes are cancelled for tomorrow. Lacombe composite high school is undergoing a 25 million dollar, three year renovation.
