Alberta Health Services is issuing a warning after a rise in viral meningitis cases in our city.
More than 90 cases have been confirmed in Alberta since April, with more than half of those in the Edmonton area.
Most of the cases involve people from the age of ten to thirty years old. Symptoms of viral meningitis include a stiff neck and severe headaches. It rarely leads to serious illness.
