Dramatic video of an off-duty RCMP officer taking down an alleged thief in Vancouver is going viral on YouTube after being posted Friday.
Terry David Silvercloud was on his way to the dentist when he witnessed a man running from another in an alley near Davie Street and Burrard.
The BC RCMP said the off duty North Vancouver Mountie arrested a suspect and held him for five minutes.
In the video the alleged shoplifter pleads with the Mountie to let him go.

“You’re ruining my life, let me go, please,” the suspect said. “I put the stuff back.”
The off-duty officer then identifies himself as a policeman.
As the suspect struggles and screams trying to get away, the officer manages to restrain him.
After about five minutes, sirens can be heard and three Vancouver police officers arrive shortly after and take the suspect into custody.
