Second Edmonton Apple store opens Friday

Friday is a big day for Apple, who are not only launching the much anticipated iPad throughout Canada – but also opening a new store in Edmonton.

Southgate Mall will be home to the store, which will open it’s doors at 8a.m on Friday. Apple announced the opening on their website.

Southgate marketing director Claire Salaysay said the rumours were correct, the new Apple Store will be located at the northern end of the mall, where the food court used to be.

The official opening of the store may be a good chance to get an iPad as Apple launches it here in Canada and in eight other countries around the world.

Canadians have been able to pre-order the iPads since last month.

They range from $549 to $879 depending on what you are after.

Already proving to be very popular in the States, more than one million iPads have been sold since it went on sale there last month.
