WHL Roundup: Saturday, November 23, 2019

RED DEER, Alta. – Calen Addison scored a hat trick and Dylen Cozens had a 5-point game (1G, 4A) as the Lethbridge Hurricanes routed the Red Deer Rebels 11-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

The loss was Red Deer’s most lopsided since March 17, 2007, when the Hurricanes knocked off the Rebels 11-1.

D-Jay Jerome tallied a couple of goals in the contest, including the game-winner with 3:58 remaining in the first period.

Koletrane Wilson, Noah Boyko, Justin Hall, Logan Barlage and Trevor Thurston also scored for Lethbridge.

Cameron Hausinger and Ethan Sakowich replied for the Rebels.

Bryan Thomson made 26 saves for Lethbridge.

Byron Fancy stopped just 7 of the 14 shots he faced, while Ethan Anders let in four goals on 23 shots for Red Deer.

The Rebels (7-13-3) went 0 for 4 on the power play, while the Hurricanes (16-7-3) were 3 for 9 with the man advantage.

KENT, Wash. — Blake Lyda made 35 saves to secure his first career WHL win as Seattle (7-12-3) eked out a victory over Saskatoon (12-11-2).

SPOKANE, Wash. — Adam Beckman’s short-handed marker was one of three unanswered goals in the third period that helped Spokane (11-8-2) rally from behind against Winnipeg (13-9-1).
