Saskatchewan’s SCN may be going off the air next month, but that isn’t stopping the channel’s supporters from staging another rally.
The rally in Victoria Park was meant to convince the government the channel is important for family programming. Funding for SCN was pulled last month in the 2010-2011 budget.
Kids and parents took part in the event. Organizers say the issue will not go away anytime soon.
“We’ll keep making the government aware of how vital SCN is or was certainly all the way through the next election,” Robin Schlaht said. “SCN will be a huge issue, I think, in the next election. SCN matters now, it’s going to matter next year when it’s election time too.”
