Investigators say police were called out around 10 p.m. to reports of a disturbance between a group of men in a parking lot at ‘Cause and Effect Bar and Grill’ on 1784 Stonechurch Rd. E.

The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition has been since upgraded to critical but stable condition.

Investigators say the shooting happened after the victim and several others exited the bar and had an interaction with the driver of a black BMW.

A man who entered the passenger side of the sedan had a disagreement with the driver just before he was shot, police say.

The BMW – alleged to have had a loud exhaust – fled the scene and was last seen eastbound on Stonechurch Road.

Detectives have not revealed any other suspect information, but believe the incident was targeted shooting.

Police also say a number of witnesses have provided statements but the victim’s family and close friends – who were at the scene – have not yet talked to investigators.
