If you’re looking for a place to cheer on our men’s Olympic hockey team on Sunday, there’s a big party planned downtown.
The MTS Centre will be broadcasting the gold medal game on its centre-ice score board.
Organizers are expecting a big crowd, anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 people.
“I think people are looking for a place to gather, and high-five that total stranger beside you, and celebrate this truly Canadian moment, happening in Canada, with a great, great team and this sport we love,” said Kevin Donnelly, general manager of the MTS Centre.
Tickets are $5. $1 from every ticket sold will go to Winnipeg Harvest.
Doors open at 1 p.m. Sunday. The puck drops at 2:15 p.m.
