Southwest police station set to open

Police say a little girl left inside a parked car during extreme heat in Edmonton has died in hospital.

Edmonton – The Edmonton Police Service is ready to open its newest station.

The Southwest Division station is opening Wednesday. It replaces the former location at 9710 51 Ave, which was open for 36 years.

“This new state-of-the-art facility will help us meet the needs of our rapidly growing communities of Southwest Edmonton for years to come,” says EPS Supt. Nigel Stevens in a media release.

The new station is located on 1351 Windermere Way, which is south of the Anthony Henday at Terwillegar Drive.
