Military plane makes emergency landing in Winnipeg

Fire crews rushed to Winnipeg’s James Richardson international Airport this morning as a military transport plane made an emergency landing. It touched down safely.

The CC-150 Polaris, the air force version of an Airbus passenger plane, was en route from Trenton, Ontario to Vancouver when it began having trouble with its hydraulic system.

The plane diverted to Winnipeg as a precaution just before noon today.

There were 56 military personnel on board, part of the military’s support crew for the Winter Olympics.

No one was hurt in the incident and technicians were inspecting the plane today to track down the trouble.
