After a lengthy delay Liberal candidate Tim Louis has been elected by voters in the riding of Kitchener-Conestoga by the slimmest of margins.
Louis edged incumbent Conservative candidate Harold Abrecht by just 305 votes, according to Elections Canada spokesperson Rejean Grenier.
The close call is nothing new for the candidates in Kitchener-Conestoga as Albrecht edged out Louis four years ago by a margin of just 251 votes.

Unlike most other ridings across the country, Louis had to wait until Tuesday morning to find out whether or not he had won.
At 2 a.m., he held a slim 273 vote lead over his rival in a contest which had seen the lead change hands several times throughout the night.

But five of the 216 polls had yet to be counted as that paperwork was missing from the ballot boxes containing the votes which has left them uncounted, Grenier said.
He explained that the returning officer for the district had been unable to get in touch with the person or people who could fill in the blanks which had caused the delay.
In Kitchener-South Hespeler and Kitchener Centre, Liberals Marwan Tabarra and Raj Sainji were each re-elected.
Cambridge and Waterloo saw Bryan May and Bardish Chagger returned to their seats as well.
