Thunderstorms expected for GTA Tuesday and Wednesday

Hot, humid weather is set to descend on Toronto this week, and with it comes the chance of severe thunderstorms.

The GTA is expecting non-severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening. However, the chance of severe storms increases in the area on Wednesday and Thursday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement calling for a slight risk of severe storms particularly near the lower Great Lakes region, “with torrential downpours, damaging winds and possible hail as the main threats.”
