Not a surprising outcome for a man who recently stripped down to his birthday suit inside a Kelowna restaurant.

The strange incident happened, coincidentally, at Naked Café, where an employee inside the vegan restaurant can be heard saying “I didn’t think he would do this.”

Naked Café general manager Mike Huget said the restaurant was having a normal busy Saturday when “all of a sudden one of my employees came and grabbed me and mentioned there was a gentleman with no clothes on.”

Huget said he rushed to the front counter and asked the man to put his clothes back on.

“He certainly did and left with no incident,” said Huget.

Given the restaurant’s name, Huget said staff often hear people joke about getting naked inside the establishment.

“Naked Café is a play on being 100 per cent plant-based restaurant and cafe,” said Huget. “We do have a running joke that it’s time to get naked, but that’s about time to eat here, time to have fun.

“Obviously it was brief lapse of misunderstanding from this gentleman. He did discuss the option of being naked at the Naked Café.”

Huget said following the incident, “we’ve had a lot more people reach out on Instagram and liked what happened.”
