TORONTO — Director Bryan Singer gave X-Men fans their first look at Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique on Monday.
Singer tweeted a photo of the Oscar-winning actress in the familiar blue body suit on the Montreal set of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Lawrence, whose performance in Silver Linings Playbook earned her an Acadamy Award this year, is reprising the role of Raven/Mystique from 2011’s X-Men: First Class. The character was portrayed in previous X-Men movies by Rebecca Romijn.
Lawrence, 22, was at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday to promote The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, a sequel to last year’s blockbuster The Hunger Games.
Singer has tweeted a number of photos from the set of the new X-Men film, which is shooting on the soundstages of Mel’s Cité du Cinema east of downtown Montreal, including Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Halle Berry as Storm and Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy.
The movie’s cast also includes Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Canadian stars Shawn Ashmore and Ellen Page.
Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage arrived in Montreal on the weekend to shoot his scenes for X-Men.
