WATCH: Richmond RCMP investigate shooting
When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old man suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was sent to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing shots fired by someone inside a two-door silver sedan. The vehicle then reportedly fled the scene.
About an hour later, Vancouver police responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Newport Avenue. Police say the vehicle matched the description of the sedan reported by witnesses in Richmond.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have been a witness, or who has dashcam footage, to contact RCMP.
