Intoxicated man injured after running away from Abby Police and hiding in a tree

Police in Abbotsford are racking their brains trying to figure out why a man ran away from them and then hid in a tree.

Officers were called last night to Gladwin Road near Sevenoaks Mall after someone spotted an injured man staggering down the road.

When police arrived, they say they sat the man down and started talking with him.

Officers realized the man needed medical attention and called for help, but that’s when he took off.

“The ambulance service attended and on their attendance he decided to go for a bit of a jog and ended up climbing up a tree,” said Sgt. Howard Olson of the Abbotsford Police. “Bleeding, he appears to be extremely intoxicated and disorientated. He was brought down from the tree, and again, turned over to the ambulance service.”
