CALGARY- A Calgary councillor is responding to remarks made by one of his counterparts on the Global Morning News.
Outgoing councillor Gord Lowe implied on the program Thursday that Ward 12 Councillor Shane Keating was on a slate of candidates elected by the Progressive Group for Independent Business in the 2010 election.
Keating says that’s not true. Keating says that while he may have been endorsed by the PGIB in the last election, and members of the organization attended two of his fundraisers, the group has not donated to his campaign and he has not taken any advice from Craig Chandler.
Following up with Global News, Lowe says he didn’t mean to question Keating’s credibility or imply that his policies or principles were in any way influenced by the group.
