“We’re tight. We’re really tight. Basically, we’re going week-to-week,” said  Kim Reid, president and founder of On Rock.

“We’re struggling, looking for enough stuff to put in there to sustain a family for three or four days.”

The organization needs various foods, including pasta sauce, pasta, canned tomatoes, brown baked beans, peanut butter, hearty soups, canned meat and fish, canned fruit, canned veggies and jam.

“[There are] 220 families, so we’re going to  need to feed them,” said Brigette Puccio, an On Rock employee.

On Rock provides help for less-fortunate families on the West Island, running a variety of programs, including a community dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.

“I can come in every week and know that my pantry and fridge will be full for the rest of the week and that my three kids will be eating comfortably,” said Tiffany Williamson, a client of the food bank.
