THE GLADES, NB — A forest fire believed to have been caused by cooking accident has spread across 500 hectares of forest, destroying two homes and causing others to evacuate near Petitcodiac.
“It just started out innocently I was heading out to work and I saw smoke behind me and I thought I must come home and check it out just you know I had a funny feeling about something,” said Karen MacLeod, a resident who watched as smoke billowed from her back yard.
