Suspicious death near Hobbema deemed homicide

EDMONTON – A suspicious death near Hobbema has been deemed a homicide, RCMP said Wednesday evening.

RCMP were called to the scene of a suspicious death on the Montana First Nation on Monday, May 6.

Officers say the male victim has since been identified as Winston Patrick Crier of Hobbema.

While an autopsy confirmed Crier’s death was a homicide, the cause of his death is not being released, as the investigation is ongoing.

Hobbema RCMP, along with other RCMP units, including the Southern Alberta Major Crimes Unit, are currently involved in the investigation.
