MONTREAL – The long-awaited feasibility study on the future Train de l’Ouest will not be released to the mayors of the West Island and Train de l’Ouest spokesperson, Clifford Lincoln, when they meet in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue Tuesday afternoon.
The West Island mayors and Mr. Lincoln were hoping to see the details of the study, or at the very least, its conclusion and recommendations.
The president of the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT), Nicolas Girard, told Global News Monday that officials of the commuter train agency were still studying the document, which is very large and complex.
Girard has a one-one-one meeting with Clifford Lincoln at noon and the mayors will be meeting with Girard later in the afternoon.
On Tuesday evening, a public consultation meeting will be held with Girard at 7 p.m. in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue.

The Train de l’Ouest is a billion dollar project to build new railroad tracks running through the West Island on the Vaudreuil-Hudson line. It would would be owned and operated by the AMT.
Currently the trains run on tracks owned by Canadian Pacific and have to share time with freight trains.
The AMT has long complained that it can’t add more trains to the line, especially outside of rush hour, because CP gives priority to freight service.
